Courage
of One
Don’t
sacrifice yourself, in rational self-interest we trust
Striving
for the values that we hold is a must
A
sacrifice is something that arises from force
It denies
your right to do what’s best for you, a farce
But
rational self-interest requires moral courage
And can
be quite political, with fragile egos about
The
control freak or inhibited minds that like to shout
The ones
that see power as a way to dictate like a lout
So
wrestle with yourself and deny guilt a trip
Unearned,
it’s the altruist’s easy sly whip
It’s the
self-sacrificing kind that seeks to lead astray
They want
you to undermine your soul, it’s the deepest to betray
Determine
your values and fight for them to keep
It all
begins when you recognize that your Life is the standard
The love
you give to who and what is a reflection of you
What you
do and where you stand is your Land
