Excellence’s
Cheerleaders
At the
edge of excellence is a reach
There’re
those across, in that rarified street
But
behind are the vast, who never try to seek
It’s
those in between, who’re reaching and keen
To be
good is never enough, its frustration stuff
But never
to try despite you is a disgraceful rough
Nothing’s
easy but your passions will uplift you
It seems
most folks have their passions killed, it’s true
But the
fortunate have minds of tough resistance
To pursue
with unrelenting insistence
These are
the ones that reach and from these come excellence
But still
there’re those that’ll always be striving
On
reflection, is it better to be those that’ve never?
Or those
who’ll strive with frustration hives?
I say
again, not following your passions is a waste of life
It’s
better to be behind excellence than in the stillness strife
