The Fraying Rope

The Fraying Rope

Oh the irony and rebuke by the metaphysical
For justice is not moral punishment but consequential
Logical and rational are the Janus-like twins of reality
The lessons not learned are the inevitable repetition of history

Western civilization is the baby of Aristotle and the Judeo-Christian
That separation of religion and politics began the climb to modern
Yet it was never reached and clinging to irrational allowed capitalism’s breach
Since the idealist peak, when the 19th century was surging to reach

So look around and see how we’ve fallen profound
Irony, the return of colonization through weak conviction
They come from the regions and are legion, but it’s in reversal!
They attack as before which saw the US Marines and the US Navy born and build the arsenal

It’s gone beyond time to act and rescue the Lyceum
For without Aristotle’s fathoming there’d be no vestibule to freedom
Time to act, vanquish the Left and destroy the Middle Eastern hordes of death
Raise the flag where reason is civilization’s shield and reality the sword, unsheathed
