Constant Run

Constant Run

The start then you falls off that wagon
Feels good then you feel the heat of the dragon
Guilt weighs so heavy it’s doubling down unnecessary
So misery hugs and defiance becomes your rosary

Defiance and weakness a marriage blessed by a demon
For then its power on as you sacrifice yourself to oblivion
Defiance and strength the love affair sprinkled with faerie dust from an angel’s lair
Then you rise as that stone weight difficulty tries to grind you with despair

Discover who you are as the choice of a cliff or abyss becomes your reality
Withdrawal doesn’t kiss but backhands you for every partiality
You know the story of steps forward then that slip and your chin sliced open
But the essence of you thru’ the tears and no glory is chagrin

This is you as your mind questions the fight
Never ending urging feeling to take or inject blight
You try and see the sight of the love you burn for
There’ll be good days and bad days as you try remembering you’re worth fighting for
