Civilization
Confrontation
Religion’s
a derangement that destroys your mental arrangement
Allows
emotional fantasies as you dance without responsibility
The
requirement to think, that resilient fink
Leave
your mind at the door, it’s not your fault if you drink and stink
A Catcher
in the Rye is
the promise for admitting sin
It’s irrational
believing you’re a toy of the angel and the demon
You’re
the victim they play tug-o-war with
Hapless
you, without the wherewithal myth
But tap,
tap, tap is relentless reason
You’ve
been schooled in the West, where reason isn’t treason
Subconsciously
deep you feel a sheepish clown
So up
rises guilt and it’s time to run!
Religion
upon high keeps fear as that damned key
Suffer
yourself to one step short of unreasonable and you feel a righteous glee
But don’t
forget to tip your dollar into the coffer
Now be gone
until you line up once more for their profitable Sabbath day offer
