Ferdinand’s Way

Ferdinand’s Way

Islands of life, beacons of light
Sensitivities always heightened, sends them reeling
Difficulties in reaching out, expressions of longing
Smiles by day, angst by night

But passions can’t be quieted
This quilt called life is so for strength
To let yourself run free to explore and never be stilted
Never too old or young, age is in your mind, godammit!

You’ll always be happy about stolen sweetness
Times when life’s seriousness has been dissed
Pleasures that corral you with warmth
Linger and, that inner satisfaction grin remains at length

So we stop along life’s way everyday and let others rush by
These are times never regretted, happiness in your sigh
Resist the guilt that maybe you’re the only one
Rounding your happiness circle means you’ve won
