Listening

Listening

When karma beckons don’t be afraid for it’s all a charade
It’s equal opposite reaction that’s the real shroud
Mistakes I’ve made are seen starkly in this dark
Listening to hear that it’s the road to hell

So my mind bounces forward and back while wrestling this tack
Thinking of faces and my reactions to places
If I jump toward that future where I know uncertainties wait
Or do nothing upon expectation that there will be happiness unseen late

Is this my fear manifesting into some phobia right here?
For I’ve been on that road to hell where emptiness reigns
To think it’s determination to get it right
Consternation that right is amorphous and reality is what I can get at night

Sleeplessness rules and tomorrow is already here
There’s no comfort when decisions warn like Paul Revere
So toss and turn as the clock moves relentlessly
Indecision is a curse, self-inflicted desperately
