Us

Us

We choose our nature but don’t confuse it with Nature
Tabula rasa at birth, human species must learn how to future
To think is first, but HOW only quenches THAT thirst
Raised by reason or set aflame through emotionalist burst

This decides whether we live civilly or drag our mind knuckles
Intrusion of metaphysical confusions, are ferocious barnacles
Reality versus man’s will’s a line that must be navigated
Train your nature to ally with Nature so a successful future is propagated

Devil’s the declaration that you’re a sinner right after dawning
No wonder the baby cries before its even yawning
Given a brain that must be trained, how dare anyone declare “Sinner!” be damned
So unearned guilt of crimes ne’er commit, see the line each time as People wrench and regret

Ad nauseum a clamor for mind over emotion for feelings entrap and destroy
We’re built to discern, not to yearn and, to make decisions like a viceroy
Next time tears well up, tell emotion I’m not your toy
I’ll do and commit to the way I was meant to!
