To witness innocent life that’s going to die

Illuminates religion’s damned lie

Then the sound of genocide’s cry

Humanity figures there’s no Catcher in the Rye

But persistent rites infuse emotions

Hope denying the light of doubt

Confusion results and minds swoon

Swooping demagogues like vengeful dragoons

And now cracked psyches triggering tabula rasa

A shock to the mind creating mental salsa

Is the turn leftward or rightward to be homeward bound?

That safe harbor like a mother’s kiss where all’s safe and sound

Now beware of the united ideologies that care

Hugging groups that gather smiling declaring fair

The only truth to freedom and sanity is individualism
