I am
Humanity
Nature’s
scion with arrogance profound
Rules
most land in a narcissistic compound
Smugness
and greed is taught and praised
Belief
and sacrifice is the creed raised
Rational
action is natural discipline
But mocked
and assailed is this strong spline
Rather
prey upon the vulnerable and meek
Acts of
the arrogant, ignorant weak
Yet this
is declared to be strength by the privileged
Smiling
face with dagger hidden ready to pillage
And once
damage is done, feel the deathlike loneliness ton
But, self-centeredness
and no remorse, so have fun
Again the
irrational carousel glittering with desire
Irresistible
omnipotence from power to which they aspire
Humanity
powering its way to beyond disgrace
Witnessing
deaths of innocents with nonchalance
