Coldness

Coldness

The sadness climbs this is no practice run
Its life in reality but can feel like you’re a nun
Happiness is out of reach in a universe of one
Cold cell is your existence when the day’s done

Many surround but their smiles are a cold star
Twinkling with beauty and attracting from afar
But no meaning and without emotions touch
If you reach out they shrink back and crouch

This crisis is a cold grip that now grabs your back
Contorted face in the mirror reflects shuddering attack
Solidifying realization you’re alone in this future zone
Tears of ice are not far behind in a panic you begin to atone

Alas this is confusion for unearned guilt is cold reason
It’s you or them in the sacrificial position
But they’re you’re mind’s foe know as alter ego
In this coldness of a frozen soul it’s you that must let go
