So Many
From a
neighborhood where another world was understood
Mama kept
me from the ‘hood and taught me judgment of good
But I
joined with eyes open or so I thought
Looking
back now I realize how fortunate
The list
of deaths is long and I remember their young faces strong
I always
get the urge to cry when I think of them and that they’re gone
When
you’re young the future is forever and time is a song
You rule
the world and see nothing wrong
Then they
start to fall and still it’s like hits on a wall
I was so
long in that lifestyle where justice was relative to all
Everyone
is beautiful when young and morality has diversity
Time
moves and you realize looking back requires perspicacity
My
shattered worlds has seen I’ve no foundations to call home
Emotional
ties can be lies and mistrust endures; only love can overcome
There are
those who know you like no others will
Sometimes
we chat and we know it’s all a secret best kept still
