Selfish the Bedrock

Selfish the Bedrock

I look in the mirror and the reflection is me
My being, my world, my mind and Identity
Freedom or Liberty my most important right
To declare I’m worthy of being happy day and night

Bedrock of salvation the individual reaffirmation
I think for myself and reason is my absolute dedication
I’ll never want anyone to surrender themselves to me
They must do what they want, never usurping their will to be

I’ll choose who or what I love without any guilty plea
World of vipers always commentating forgetting their civility
Weapon used efficiently is unearned guilt placed sanctimoniously
But selfish desire allows me to protect my fire and damn those liars

I know I’ll walk alone any pathway that denies society
To fit in is the pathetic craven commanded destiny
That is a choice taken when you hate your face
So love yours as I do mine and that love will always be grace
