Unfinished
The two
hours you see and never the twenty practiced
A book
you read never witnessing the pages trashed
Yet
infinity is your sadness if you started and never ended
Broken
hearted upon reflection your art suspended
Within us
all is the cry to witness
Whether
it’s another’s or your own greatness
Satisfaction
supreme is the finished dream
Regret as
time closes doors is an unfinished scream
Emotions
of the derelict and sadness of the afflicted
The
energy available to be concreted and constructed
Happiness
may flatten your artistic imagination
But
nothing like starting and never finishing raises soul degeneration
Fly over
the homes and see unfinished stories or poems
Look in
closets and there you’ll see gathering dust guitars and violins
They
remember or think about what could have existed
Then
quickly move their minds away thinking if only they’d persisted
