Love’s Curse
Do you
desire the ideal?
Looking
for your heart to steal?
Mind and
emotions so often colliding
Seems to
be an alter ego colluding
So suffer
not the little ‘uns but those that rule
Conduct
your life until hubris is no longer a ghoul
Then you’re
safe you love to think, goddamn fool
Is that a
finger from heaven that trips you into the muddy pool?
No regret
is the lover’s oath
Yet,
behind closed doors alone you’re a naked oaf
No
certainties, but accusing profanities
Aimed at
the one you know that destroys opportunities
Yes, that
mirror is hard to bear
But is it
striving for truth, and then your soul won’t tear?
Yet, and
yet, a lover’s crash is never clear
There’s
perennial doubt, so convince you, the liar’s lair
