It’s
Called Life
How
quickly the time has gone
Seems
like yesterday everything was new under the sun
We were
warriors of the night and partied ‘til light
A
hangover was a momentary blight
Who was
that staying over nite?
No need
for names, that never brought delight
Not a
bleary eye or a wrinkle in sight
But then
you suddenly get to be all grown up
Witnessing
consequences you realize it’s not an angel’s cup
Suicides
and shattered lives of so many you hugged and loved
The white
lines and golden rivers that drove high and low
Delusion
that if it felt good, it’d be a future so
Stepping
over the frivolous line, the light is unforgiving
Decimated
generation from diseases and overdoses
The
lunacy of religion spouting “just deserts!”
Yet, no
regrets and we still have the music and it never hurts
