Threshold Consciousness Nightmare

Threshold Consciousness Nightmare

How sadness rebounds in the stillness after midnight
Melancholy Baby cries if it sees you’re smiling bright
Lay your head down when it’s time, but found is restlessness
Close your eyes and half asleep’s when you see love waving good-bye

So is this shred soul time when your hopes and dreams decline?
The savage demons of nihilism with corrosive fingers climb
Too cold, too hot, trapped in a sweat shop
Nerve needles that torture the skin until you want to scream

Sounds of the night, tormented creatures that come out
Imagination, illusion and reality in a synthesis of mind rout
A glimpse into limbo a warning from the future
God’s sense of humor to scatter a mind in terror

Tensed up is your body and suddenly charley horse
In surreal darkness you’ve jumped up but feel nauseated and faint
So writhing in undeserved cramp you shout “why me?”
Silence the response unfortunately
