Straitjacket Breakout

Straitjacket Breakout

Thoughts rushing thru’, colliding mind meteors
Shattering into sparks, falling cold iron drops
Shivering emotions from the metallic rain
My mind of insane that frequently reigns

I’m the berserk cat that runs around towards nowhere
In abstraction my reality is surreal
The danger of cracked personality
Terrified I’m becoming a shattered mentality

I’m looking at beauty to bring me focus
Or the toxic fumes of crazy will confuse that visibility
My normality of tense attrition
Trying to erode my spirit thru’ nihilistic perdition

Blinking eyes that strive for balance
Reflect my mind in a dance with chaotic randomness
So light is dawning because that’s the story of life
Unpredictable survival and adaptation aligning with the vectors of logic and so avoiding strife

Kissed by Minerva

Kissed by Minerva

In the creative realm sitting under Minerva’s elm
Infusing the imagination poison
Wracking emotions and four seasons is her toll
Drink it in and feel the extreme

Once found you’ll always be bound
Happiness and heartbreak then sadness
Pushing towards overwhelming
The fight to remain onside when there’s nothing welcoming

I swim in the realm of emptiness
The curse of the goddess temptress
For she sees only the purity of expression
Artistic obsession rejecting hedonist ambition

Dark curtain of melancholy imagination
Synapses firing in an extreme reach for exhaustion
Sadistic pleasure is her test and measure
Sleep and calm is for the weak declares Minerva as she makes me her treasure

A Halloween Song

A Halloween Song

The fright on Halloween mayn’t be what’s seen
Pretty faces that smile and stay awhile
Relaxed and comfortable you’ll take that treat
The hand of horror reaching behind to attack and defeat

Their eyes are sirens screeching loud
But you don’t see them in the crowd
Happily partying they’re looking for prey
Cracked minds with devouring faces that seek to slay

Come the real predators with sweet tongues
You’ll be flattered and vulnerable hearing happy songs
Look closely and see a reflection of you
In calculating eyes that want to draw out your life’s brew

And how close they are inside your lager
Sister, brother, mother or father
Friends that are foes all with seething destructive minds
Don’t drink or eat the sweet melting candy or heady wines

Hug’s Witness

Hug’s Witness

When you witness love, the angels have come to visit
When mama accepts your choice unconditionally, that’s Liberty
See it in her eyes she wishes it were different
But she knows her daughter’s life is the individual right

The sublime moment is magic come to life
It’s the light that destroys a world filled with darkness’s blight
There’s no time in the world of justice and good
It’s the realm of heaven in a divinity’s sight

Such a moment I’m fortunate to witness
Feeling their emotions which makes us human spirits
For love transcends rules and commands
For the logic of hating the good is an evil stand

Yet that’s what’s widely spread
See ‘twas two girls and ones’ mother
Introduction and at the end such a tight hug
Her mama showed and, they cemented love’s bond that’ll live forever

An Unpainted Fence

An Unpainted Fence

Remember when rap declared “America we love you!”
When from the depths of oppression MLK always declared “We”?
And no president ever apologized for who we are
When sport was where politics became something afar

There was fighting in Vietnam and it wasn’t a dream
We’d won the race to the moon and proved it wasn’t a balloon
The war was cold and getting damn old
The body bags were mounting and protests were counting

Inflation was the rage and that was no elation
Nixon went from tricky-Dickie to disgraced in a jiffy
We sang hallelujah in Alabama and I kissed Tallulah
Wallace was shot and that gave us no solace

I look back remembering that Southern blue sky in July
All those Fourth of Julys when regardless everyone wouldn’t by shy
The Star Spangled Banner would ring out and the flags would fly
There wasn’t a dry eye anywhere my sweet apple pie

Rise Above

Rise Above

Absolutism resides only in reason
The sole epistemology for every season
All else requires trust or faith
The bases that propagate the authoritarian state

Separation of politics from the irrational
Given birth by the Framers of our Constitutional
To recognize that it’s the individual not the identity
Combined with a rationally taught mind that’ll hold sacred Liberty

In the depths of oppression this message was taught
Martin Luther King jr to Washington his message brought
To destroy hatreds and see how humanity can live in joy
He understood well both sides’ emotions that could destroy

United, wrapped in one flag that frees
Singing our anthem that raises us above the trees
Look upon the graves at Arlington
They too fought for Liberty, not destruction

Within Narrow Straits

Within Narrow Straits

The fight because they claim to be right
The way you are aesthetically declares
You’ll receive admirers, critics and stares
Outside of the conventional walking stairs

Take two or three steps at a time and you’re out of line
This analogy of identity marks you outside of mentality
You’ll discover rigidity away from New York City
Self-righteous criticism is a liberty

Individualism isn’t a mesmerizing cataclysm
It abides by the natural laws of reason
It’s difference that causes the eruption of fear
Illustrating the insecurities of those who jeer

Endeavor to discover the coverings’ mind
In rational minds the sublime’s always trying to find
With the underpinning of reason as your guard
You’ll be able to distinguish the chaff from the chard

Reversal

Reversal

History teaches philosophy thru’ the lesson of reality
The metaphysics of logic that recognize the inanimate
Vulnerable to the living possessing the will of destruction
Hatred of history is an irrational emotion

Bad education is the validation of feelings
Requiring the world to revolve around your recitations
Purity the dimension of Utopian fiction
Minds rearranged to act dystopian

So destroy what offends and allow nothing to bend
Morality becomes relative and always justified is the end
Into the whirlpool of self-pity sews the vacuum
Raises the demagogue and self-centered whim

The treading backward from civilization into the arms of brutality
You’re no longer the individual but an apparatchik of tribalism
Feels good that sense of belonging infusing altruism
Then it’s too late, you’re the scapegoat in the collective for nihilism

Salvation?

Salvation?

Oh my aching soul that lies crying on coals
I’ve frozen out the fire and the tears on the ashes are cold
Happiness stands with her back of solid stone
I’m abandoned and alone from destiny’s ice thrown

Belief brings comfort but to me that’s merely seeking shrift
The admitting to unearned guilt about which there’s nothing gilt
Absolution sought for nothing bought
A mindset cess created leaves a mess

We end up all together as lifeless matter
Back into eternity from where we started our journey
Does life begin at conception after sin?
That’s the declaration of religion on life’s origin

But truly we’re told we were known before we were born
Optimistically were never dead
You’re going to live forever with aunt Fred
Ain’t that a thought to dread

Justice for Reason

Justice for Reason

Partisan may be sweet as marzipan
But the universe demands justice rules the clan
Disobedient Man has arrogant belief he can
Sway the laws that govern a turning fan

It’s taught that whim and wish is morality
But the law of reality destroys that superficiality
So love’s an emotion of want not need
Rational desire ensures that creed

Yet despite the annals of history
Man’s determined that peace remains a mystery
Hanging on to the beliefs of ascendants
Tradition condemns to repeating precedents

Clear the slate and disrespect those late
You’re the living and must determine your fate
Justice has no power for it’s the irrational that uses force
Reason exists and disobeying sets you on a tearful course

Anon

Anon

Feel the jagged edges of between the molecules
Nothing certain but happiness and sadness at the same time
Suddenly you’re in that dimension and feel allegation
The finger of life in your direction that you’re an alien

Unwittingly fighting in the psychological subterranean
Trying to remember the step that slipped up
Ironical that the only up is a decline
Face the facts separates your mind into chemical lines

There’s nothing physical for tit’s the will chronicle
Testament to failure or difference regardless, it’s a dead end
How to find the molecules that bind
That’ll raise me up and I’ll walk without a shroud

Is this punishment for what’s been done in a past life?
Punishment and reward are such nefarious types
And belief is surrender to fear
Maybe one day an answer will appear

Barbie’s Tears

Barbie’s Tears

Smiling child under the light, in the gloom
None can see the future that’ll be her doom
Dolls her desire but they want to teach her how to make fire
Her teacher grins with the lust of a liar

Train her brain to hate and disdain
Life’s always filled with cold rain
Sacrifice is the creed and to be for you is to worship greed
Death is eternity but awaits you blessed certainty

Family praises for innocence and diligence
She’ll never feel love’s kiss but that’s a human weakness
Prisoner of religion or an ideology where humanness is a sin
No respect for life, for altruism’s rife

She keeps her feelings hidden; she’s seen them thrown from the rooftops
She knows she’s going to die because they cast her die
It’s been years now but still that human light makes her cry
Evil has made the reality of her world a monster lie

Clock Always Strikes

Clock Always Strikes

Time waves goodbye yet we view it as sublime
See a broken heart and it’ll take time we chime
Uncle Albert disclosed it’s a relative line
I like nine, it’s always a reason to wine and dine

Optimism bridges the schism between reality and a happiness chasm
Allows you to step into a mindset of romantic sunset
Get carried away like when you’re just married
That now is eternity and kookaburra calls for you only

Don’t you notice that warning in her voice?
That makes you happily laugh until you feel the darkness slap
The light’s always burn at the other Albert’s home
Lysergic acid’s never quiet or acrid

It’s a wry rum thing that’ll rattle and make you hum
Your call to get lifted from reality and the humdrum
Psychedelic colors and you believe you’re psychic
You’ll forget time’s no sidekick while your mind plays tricks

Gyration

Gyration

Don’t descend into the black pit
Those creatures found will terrify to the end of your wits
That slippery slope we know so well
The sight of the black hole of cold hell

Never close your eyes or you’ll drift into the limbo mist
Covering you as you can’t turn or twist
Ugly faces of the deadly evil creatures reaching to shred your soul
Their outstretched hands confusingly pretty, alluring and whole

Riding desperation and your mind’s no longer your friend
Emotions that collide between surrender and prayer
To fight thru’ time neither day or night
You can’t see the end in sight and there seems no point

This nihilism that strikes from within feeling like a shattering dream
It’s real and you can’t awake, but must get thru’ this horrible scene
Physical escape is to cut and bleed
Transfer to reality where the sun shines and stitches are your need

Empires of Illusion

Empires of Illusion

The serpents are out slithering about
The fall from Eden in blazing spot lights
How often the con in iconic delight
Reality always refracted and our eyes see the desirable sight

So accuse human nature for that’s your right
But moral courage’s a choice and sublime’s also our trait
From iconic to ironic the inevitable turn of the world
Those that have accused are the ones that have abused

Politics’ in every facet of life
Subliminal or explicit, our minds must be guarded from strife
Watch the popular icons fall and witness their stands were phony
When they beg forgiveness give them a look cold and stony

Debase the culture of role model
Destroy the pretense of celebrity doll
Hear the cries and see the suicides
Even unscathed won’t leave you without scars

Imagine Be Damned

Imagine Be Damned

The fear’s throughout, permeated without any doubt
Panic is the constant so shut out any argument
Revise the story that Holden found out
Promote the faerie tale that the rye grows tall and stout

No consequences is reality and you’ll always find safety
The catcher hidden, resides waiting with arms open
Always jump and you’ll fly, landing safely in the rye
This obedience to nonsense is the danger of imagining no consequence

Cocooned from cradle to first saddle leaves really no riddle
One mind is the trained deaf kind
Cognitive dissonance the rock, without which there can be no stock
The solution is sameness and nobody permitted difference

Politics of destruction requires aesthetic collusion
Arise this modern Khmer Rouge with violence their solution
A primitive answer to ideological challenge
The circle always rounds and death will abound

Liberation in Confidence

Liberation in Confidence

How do I get the screaming out my mind?
Time means nothing when you can see everything unwind
Seize confidence and let it flow
Hate the tension that corrupts and you’ll know

Regret is the demon from doubt
Hatred for fear the kiss of release
So raise confidence until you’re despised
True freedom will carry you high

Fight against emotion directed by your jailer, inhibition
Embrace extreme emotion that coincides with reason
Regardless, the soft bed of virtue will love you
The passion will be humanness that ends in happiness

I’m the naïve lover of sublime human nature
I recognize the evil that the irrational nurtures
Liberation is within mind
Moves from screaming to a song for all mankind

Between The Octaves

Between The Octaves

The pitch moves and the ivories sing
Each time I hear, I remember your ring
Nurtured from birth to listen and sing
I realize I never appreciated your ring

Time and memories pull the strings
Youth and ignorance deny appreciating things
It’s always tears that express yearning
That now I know and want to show but its long been evening

You saw my soul because you gave me life
I can’t change that I delivered also strife
You’ll never know that I’m like you after all
You left too soon and I was on my own

But I see you in my hands
I hear your music in my bands
The poetry and music would make you smile
Perhaps more than when you performed at night after miles

Emotion’s Curse

Emotion’s Curse

When anger turns in, the hatred comes out
Loading the loathing for frailty and weakness seen
Reflections of self-disgust and that’s nothing august
How far is the seething until you attack or cut until bleeding

Witness stupidity, the lack of common sense
Enough to anger until insanity and definitely incense
But guard that temper for it’s not your friend
Those seconds of destructive emotional release is a fiend

The world that exists is not an unrelated mist
Self-centered causes that sacrifice others will raise fists
Walking the trip wire of emotionalist decision or reaction
Never will a kiss be found, but regret, the curse

So vice taps our shoulder and seduces
Welcome mind altering substances or lecherous abuses
Headed towards self-destruction and seeing only mortality
“What’s the use”, is the final banality

Also Me

Also Me

Am I a foreigner or wanderer come home?
I’m embraced and slapped in a country I’ve long known
Israel’s not easy for an Anglo like me
But so many Israelis melt the harshness in me

A country that really is like it’s purported to be
Toughness with a kindness they dislike being told I see
I’m different I know in every category
But that’s been my soul everywhere from the time I was three

Sometimes I wonder where my home is
For I’ve never stayed long enough perhaps
My heart still floats like a searching bumble bee
But my life was saved here and now I’ve no place else to be

I don’t ask questions about existence
For that leaves you with endless curiousness
I accept we’re all part of Nature
And it’s love with passion that’s the best future

An American Tree

An American Tree

Don’t weep for the indomitable spirit that stands
Despite being hit, determinedly standing strong in the land
Bleeding but feeling the stars and stripes all over
In the face of evil the furnace of patriotism burns white hot

Love for one’s country must be rational and is nurtured slowly
It arrives one day and we’re defined
Realizing that we have Liberty
Realizing we’re in the Land of the brave and the free

The journey to getting where we have to be
An Example to others that reach out for individuality
“It’s the Individual stupid” that ought to be every election’s key
Unlocking the shackles that hold back happiness’ glee

This the mission of any rational philosophy
To defeat the tyrant and those that seek to make anyone property
But beware and don’t mess up
The demons of collectivism and the yoke of mysticism are never in despair

Radicalized

Radicalized

Bright boy with sun shining and future strong
Mother shuns him and in confusion he views the world as wrong
Mother loves him and he sees the world as his song
To sing as he pleases, to fleece and use, satisfyingly the day’s long

No matter the chatter that clutters the gutters
He notices those others and mentally marks their shutters
To seek to find and be wanted by a similar kind
His world isn’t multi-colored but a certain hue to which those others are blind

Difference turns to dislike and he’s always done as he likes
The ticking count down is the sound he hears now and, is that boy at the dyke
Higher and higher he climbs, in his mind he’s reaching to God
Hatred becomes the emotion he loves and he wants to kill as done by heaven above

Hell is incidental for he sees evil is the People
Perfection and cleanliness are his devotional
It’s time to eradicate the world of the vermin
Murder to suicide enacts his sermon

Humanity’s Still

Humanity’s Still

Where conventional is worn like a natural cloak
Then there’re the others where the fit is a yoke
Mindsets that don’t see what is apparently
A sight, a sub-culture that misses those damn trees

How ironic that in humanity, eccentricity's viewed as an oddity
Yet, mechanically an engine without, is an impossibility
See how erroneous is normative humanity?
Once more Nature demonstrating a lack of perspicacity

Surely reason can one day rule rather than emotion
A declaration that’d even surprise its recognizer’s devotion
For Aristotle knew well human nature
As did the United States Founding Fathers in their nomenclature

Deductively; eccentric, unconventional or odd, call it what you will
The cement in the wall that binds humanity still
And then the emotions that create humanity’s still
Contemplate our present and, imagine a future by really thinking when sitting still
