A Cold
Kiss
The
sickness spins your mind around
Up and
down as the fever wants you down
Do you pray
or wonder where this dastardly comes from?
Do you
now remember your arrogance before the fever took you to its prom?
I’m the
plaything in the temperature roller coaster
Aches
that travel one from the other fast as quanta
Look
around and see the enemy
It’s us
that spread virus, them, you and me
So strive
for the anti-biotic
Now you
know you’re not at all bionic
How
fragile are we, yet everyday believe we’re kings
But
biology, physiology and reality decide those things
Its
winter and it does its cold level best
To wreak
havoc in your mind, sinus and chest
That
perhaps even in the middle of a summer’s August
You’ll
remember winter, that interfering uninvited guest
