Blood Alarm

Blood’s a color like no other
Always triggers a reaction from warmth to a shudder
The corpuscles of life, in its flow we trust
Keeping those channels healthy is a must

Testing time’s usually once per year
Vials of three is the usual gear
It’s not a party but nervousness to fear
You’re about to discover any body sneaky plot in a rear

In goes the needle and the stream begins
Then it’s enough and the clock in your mind starts to tick-tock
Emotions will let you know as imagination rocks

Days pass and the rising nervousness each time the phone rings
Anxiety’s an emotion with butterfly wings
Then as you imagine the time has happily tock’d
The phone buzzes and it’s a call from the doc’s
