Maze

Maze

May’s gone and now the summer flowers
Already wilting and I hear the buzz
The insects that gather in the trees for the afternoon heat
Maybe mint julep would be an ideal Kentucky treat

I look back in time thru’ film noir
I’ve a feeling for that era, it’s happily sublime
Is reincarnation a drink of witch lime?
Perhaps dimensions send reflections thru’ time

In LA that amazing acronym
There’s Ravenswood the building
Art deco from a time when class and style rhymed
Mae West, if you don’t know her, you’re not worth the time

They’ve both gone but May will come again
And Mae will always be remembered for that’s West, Hollywood’s ten
Meantime there’s always black and white
When the story was the world at midnite
