Opened Palms

Opened Palms

New beginnings clash with lingering emotions
Always the party crashers attempting disruptions
But the mental state is the prevailing rate
You’ll pay that at the end of the fight

Recognizable is happiness because I become Friday’s child
There’s no disguising sadness for then I’m Wednesday’s child
Alas overriding all is the melancholy cloud
And that’s known by all in their world where loneliness is found

The abandoned move in life with emptiness
When there’s been no father or mother, you have to guess
With trepidation because we don’t know
Not knowing how life works is a constant cold glow

So ‘twas absinthe or opium to overcome
But still right there is the cloud not gone
Where to now because life’s the price
For many I’ve tears, but for myself tough years
