Morning
Devotion
That
flash of gravity reminding you, you’re humanity
As you
awaken and the sun shines too brightly
Lunge for
the clock and you suspect it’s going to shock
See the
numbers or its staring face and regardless, it’s a lock
Desire to
move and jump of bed is madness to prove
But you
do so anyway and wonder where you’ve gone to
For
you’re upright but it feels like fright night, so you give way to the pretense
of your feelings
That you’ve
got lots of time, even tho’ time is a swine, for Starbucks and Jeelings
Then it
creeps up to you and you’re suddenly wide awake and clear
Up you
jump, this time with conscious purpose but no cheer
It’s a
January frozen dawn and it feels like a mourn
Colors
look grey and you’re trying to think in logical step routine as in every morn
You know
what to do while the clarion call gets louder
Never
mind porridge or clam chowder
It’s
CAFFEINE that screens persistently to claim your body, mate
You’re
late but now who cares as the elixir of the bean or leaf happiness elates
