Screaming

Screaming

Ties to cravings or the pains of addiction
To subjugate or alleviate these strains of affliction
Knowing the utter suicide pact with the mind
Relentless force from within makes all else blind

Emotions from high to low in milliseconds flow
Once more and never again but desire is all aglow
Curse is the taste and relief the punishment
Belief a comic book of tales without any sacrament

So rises the pessimism of nihilism as addicted eyes see
Can’t let go but no resistance so must keep the evil tree
It tantalizes and torments as its reason for being
Awake is the torture for to lie down brings no sleep only addiction screaming

To fight is the healing, the constant call from sanity
Everyday declaring no with the reward reality
At times the optimistic tide of victory
And then the loneliness of sobriety
