After All

After All

There’s no emptiness in space, only within humanity
An emotion of suffering, happily admitting no mercy
That human reaching for momentary happiness
Finding only regret and unearned guilt

Yet what’s the alternative to invisible suffering?
That conflict within, mind versus emotion
I cover my face in the swirling reality
The panic that rises, once the downside sets in

See again and again, and then to reconcile within
This psyche that allows emotion, feeling and mind differences
Beware the nihilism that lurks ready
It wins often and seeks me as a victim

But I deny it and it subsides like the coward it hides
For it seeks only the frail and the lonely
And the end’s “oh what’s the use”
Remember that “I’m the use” and you’re never obtuse
