Altruism’s Poison

 Altruism’s Poison

For the good of humanity, the greater good, what clarity!
Trite words that slither and slide, escaping scrutiny
The tautology’s to link words with justice and candy
A lie brought to you by, Never Mind the Minority

Altruism raises its evil head from the sacrificial altar
Hear its praises read, by the morality dictators
But there’s no momentary pause to think on what they’ve said
For we know that rational self-interest’s a sin to dread

And this minority, that’s the smallest of all
It’s you the individual, the only valid call
Liberty politically is usurped by the group
Explodes it into oblivion thru’ an unearned guilt coup

And emotions become that of the schadenfreude voyeurs
Forced to deny “I”, creates angry, suspicious airs
So failure and sacrifice of another becomes sport
Cannibalistic society’s the thief become king and no recourse
