State

State

When the rhetoric stops reality remains
Wishes and whims are easily in vain
Righteous purity destroys sanctity
Its rigidity leaves humanness a casualty

So look around and observe necessity
Conflict of desired reality versus probability
Closed ears and turned away eyes raise happiness
As if by magic the work is done to its fullness

Moral dilemma is subdued when your love cries
Clear the backyard and suffer the lies
The weak always bear the cost
When they gather and push, they’re told get lost

One day they stand their ground for living’s sake
This contest within reality they demand a higher stake
When reasonableness is abandoned, bloody mindedness
A tense taught time of resolute candidness
