Attitude
Line
To see
loss, to feel loss requires perspective’s gloss
It might
make you cry or realize it’s an irrelevant good bye
The feel
of defeat or anger from no way to win
Not from
competition but the stark reality of life, the shark’s fin
This is no
esoteric exercise bathed in phony hysterics
It’s the
rock face of reality that’s constantly met, life’s physics
Can’t run
away so the human reaction is to try and forget
But
that’s another thumb tack that pricks, so it’s rationalize instead
How
fragile our wall against dread
Trying to
imagine that it’ll always be fine instead
The
sights of others struggling against death’s tugging
That’s
mind terror grimly endured
Let’s
have fun anyway while trouble, that rascal, lurks
Attitude
is a bat that neutralizes attacks from jerks
And this
works most of the time, we’re always in line
When your
turn comes just act as if it’ll be fine
