Why New Year?
For I’m a
secular Westerner and I don’t abide religion contagion
Religion’s
origin was to explain a world of confusion
But now
we know reason’s song
And
despite the counting its stands for reason’s resolution, light the bong
Make
resolutions for they’re declaration’s from deep down
Wishes
for changes you’ve determined to be your crown
Personal
conclusions that declare “I’m an individual”
This most
ever important ritual
Obedient
to nobody and I submit to nothing
My mind
is my guide and thinking everything
Emotions
leverage my life to enjoy
The
supreme one I give most selfishly, called love, that sublime envoy
Upon
Judeo-Christian principles started the West
Then came
Aristotle defining and deciding our great rational quest
Intrusions
were Plato and Kant with their abominable sacrilege
Let’s
resubmit and determine now The West is our vital heritage
