Incongruous Treachery

Incongruous Treachery

Born to privilege under the traitor sign
From day go was always the accidental alien
Guilt determined was guilt unearned
Condemnation always immoral from the corrupt atlanteans

Never in doubt the path to outcast
Belief intact without waver, predicting thundercast
Indeed thunderclap came but never was it so lame
Those sworn to care shifted and demolished blame

At risk shockingly high was the entire edifice
Secrets sent to enemy of Lent, how small the sacrifice
Suspicion came one cracked forlorn dawn
‘Twas time to flee thru’ streets, down lanes, across the lawn

Ships waiting in the harbor, arranged the walk on water
Dry dock came once around the clock, but no flock greeted their pater
Trust, that fragile side of neurotic, requires a long time to kiss a traitor
No understanding the abstract mind of a spy by their adjudicator
