Deborah
or Joan
When
government is a debacle it’s like sliding over barnacles
It rips
and shreds until you bleed and cry
Defense
is the money you thought you have
As it
buys less and you slide from sire to knave
Only
unschooled fools trust the greedy drool
Politicians
that pretend to be life guards at the pool
Then come
the promises and individual becomes unkewl
Then
rises the rebel clear despite shouts of coward ringing in her ears
So rip
away and rather struggle than be sacrificial
Surrendering
yourself to nobody and none to you
She
fights for the mind, the defender of Liberty
Let my
life be mine and my mistakes will always be divine
“Twas God
or Nature or whoever owns the hereafter
Gave me
my life, she intones on the step of a public corner
Cheers ring
out as The People know what’s true
A shot
rings out and she’s dead from a government crew
