Questions
to Ask
Do you
have the courage to be yourself?
Or are
you who you were raised to be, displayed on the shelf?
Inhibitions,
that evil dictator wrapping you in a chain
Your
broken heart of regret when you see their disappearing mane
Perhaps
that dress which you loved but didn’t dare
You
thought they’d think you vain and stare
Love and
individuality in despair
The two millstones
sent to bear
But never
mind the past, for the future’s always now
You know
who you are and must take that vow
To open
who you are and to hell with anyone
To
embrace who you want to love even if looked down upon
For inner
satisfaction, whether you’re viewed as strange or great
This is
the most vital reaction to what is inviolate
And
society is an irrelevant invention
Made to
control thru’ convention
