like’s Pavlov’s hound
Don’t
lean against or push the walls
Cracks
create insecurities and fears unbound

small and they reach for hallucination
Senses
guarded against scratches and scrapes
Outside
world is a potential invasion
Pressure
rise is the consequence
Minds of
cauldrons bubbling hot
Different
seeps in and shakes their safe pot
Self-thought
is wrought so believe in God
Smug and
cozy so protect the children from reality’s rod

shattered flare and criticize
Observe
their stare that shows despair as hope is vaporized

future is now a thought that terrifies
Block
everything out that clarifies
