Existence Persistence

Existence Persistence

Have we been here before, is this that fleeting French feeling?
But this is an emotion, a human derangement delusion
Another thought begs that might have one reach for the keg
Reincarnation a partial realization when there’s constant fascination

Surprise and wonder about my sanity is the question I ponder
Does a comfortable emotion rise seeing or reading about an era?
Ever think why you’ve that penchant for even a time of terror?
Acute interest in a past, as if looking back to when you were cast

Constant searching for meaning and evidence, existence is not your last
Patton had that and wore thoughts about his Carthaginian war
Napoleon believed he’d been Charlemagne and made law
Human phenomenon that rides desiring never to die

There’s no definitive answer outside of reasons pasture
Why not the hereafter can be another chapter?
Whatever you choose will suit your mind
But always remember never to impose it on other mankind
