Just Us
Earth hanging in
nothingness surrounded by loneliness
How sad is its humanness
without any lovingness
Tears washing her face in
a blue embrace
No kisses for her cheeks
like my empty wishing lips
Distant stars display
their bright warmth
But all we feel is the
cold night of length
Hope is a land of empty
promise
Where thunder without
lightning rain blessings of pretense
In squalid desperation I
believe for minutes
Until realization that my
warmth is pretentious
For look around this
lonely planet of heartbreak
Spinning relentlessly, no
matter humanity’s heartache
Disdain for convention
plays alongside Newton’s
dimension
Structure of chaos opposes
Mankind’s aspiration
Emotionalist domination is
the abomination
Just us is the reality not
imagination
