Now the Darkness

Now the Darkness

The dark fingers always reaching out
Streaming black and pessimism without let up
The light is always the past, the gloom cloud in every room
Don’t look too the end of the zoom or you’ll see the inevitable doom

Each fights their battle at every age clearer
It’s natural to see no further than the mirror
For we are logic and reason and know Nature’s conclusion
This leads to illusion and well as bizarre confusion

Times when even the most difficult is easy
Then comes the easy that is so difficult
Battles of life’s emotions day by day that castigate
Sadness the constant in the melancholy world state

Look for a divine whisper in the slow whirlpool of the abysmal
That the soul will get out of this sad trying tribunal
For this is a crucible where innocence is the crime
Unrelenting punishment by design by the divine
