Jump

Jump

How do I get from here to there?
There’s no god to cheer
Standing in the chill of sadness
Warmth freezes when there’s no gladness

I know as a head case I’m not alone
It’s standing on a mountain edge looking down
Could you jump without being pushed?
The sight of happiness making tears gush

Pointless existence but nature is insistent
Pretense there’s purpose, validating death resistance
Love is the glue that prevents self-annihilation
Reality is the spite that tests my predilection

I question my sanity when witnessing my reality
Around and again down then up to rationality
My narrow opening in a mind of constraints
Light of a world without restraint
