Descent
into Primitive
Nuclear
winter’s mankind out of kilter
Gone the
rational filter
Came that
day all the gods and aliens wept
For
humanity lost its rationality and swept
Away went
people, devoured by the heat
Vaporized
anything with a heart beat
No shock
or surprise, only reality without disguise
For so
long the pretense that the brink wouldn’t be tried
Came the
cloud then the clouds of dust asunder
Falling
rain but no sound of thunder
A strange
sight to see for those thinking they’re free
But night
came even tho’ ‘twas afternoon at three
Confusion
after the fusion and cold and hunger
They
looked at each other to cannibalize the younger
Nothing
on this earth except the primitive once again
Mankind
never really learns how to count to ten
