Hanukah -
Rededication
The
lighted candles burning bright white
To
remember when the Temple
had oil for only one night
It took
eight days to press the olives right
Judah and
his Maccebees won that vital fight
Came, the
Hellenic hordes to defile the Jerusalem
Temple
Brave
Hebrews determined to never surrender
They won
on faith and courage with blood
The story
of a People that have outlived their enemies well understood
Rededicated
the Temple on
the Mount
Descendants
of Gideon, Joshua, Saul and David
Now Israel stands
once more with its capital Jerusalem of Gold
Forever
to remember but never to lose or surrender
Sweet
treats, gifts and happiness
Never to
forget the sadness, loss and loneliness
For
without the Land known as Eretz Israel
We could
celebrate but to no avail
