Once the Blood

Once the Blood

Two-faced in a different space
Fake emotion the domain of cowardice
Embrace me and smile, your hand raised
Dagger hovering waiting poised

Your serpent mind will strike in love
Innocence is the call to your hate
Witnessing happiness raises revenge
Guilt the surging acid of remorse

Deficient mind found in your kind
Time, the immoral forgiver of evilness
So I remember the pain that it was not in vain
Dullness the anesthetic that delivers forgiveness

Once the blood has flowed, the world shifts
No more trust as the break up leaves lust
Only the physical remains to fade with time
Eventually declining to nothing, just dried red
