Aversion

Aversion

The coffee’s always tastiest when there’s no time
The illicit always solicits and its attraction feels sublime
A throwback, an emotion, an ancient line?
Enshrined in mankind’s DNA, is excited by the edge after the climb

Suppression’s the most modern obsession
Averse to risk and that upsets, bringing depression
Not thru’ individual choice, that has little voice
Teaching we’re all so delicate and precious

Are the sun’s rays as angry as they say?
Have we become humanity that prefers dull and gray?
To find the middle ground that satisfies all around
This lesson a kiss from those that are ninety is profound

Our battle with gravity was thought to be insanity
But you’re only a clown until you discover your perspicacity
Risk is exposing you while others huddle
So protect yourself from that deviation puddle
