Divine Embrace
There was a world around
before I came round
Building and moving toward
the day I made my first sound
I look at those times with
wonder and awe
I see the people in
pictures and think of what I saw
They’re all older from a
babe to a nan
Now mostly gone from time
to anon
See how they dress with
care and structured certainty
Nothing like today’s mores
of carelessness or individuality
Pretty and colorful is
still New York City
Roma or Milano my precious
tasteful cities of elegant sexuality
Haifa where I live generally so drab afflicted with
banality
I think of why these
places evolved so, stylistically
Where was I before my
birth?
Did I float in space or in
front of God’s face?
Is Nature only the
universe set in eternal space?
I hope the answer is a
divine embrace
