Fools Win

Fools Win

Pushing that rock uphill to gain
Destined to miss, for it to roll down again
Eternity, definitely the longest time
But infinity is the greatest crime

Pursuit of your love, rebuffed with a broken smile
Confuse my expectations for disappearing miles
Sunken heart for endless time unknown
That smile remembered, now a stand for renown

Deceit a game can be played with an aim
Guilt crossing a mind where desire is enshrined
Glance left at no smile, shift right to sunshine
Your lips at halves delivering a message that carves

Decide to jump once more, the sun so bright
Far better to scar my soul than regret at night
Beautiful nymph, dazzlingly lithe, so smitten
Your open arms my triumph, I am your kitten
