Fallen Divinity

Fallen Divinity

Sadness all around, the heavy cloak
Universe of emptiness where love is the joke
Anger the emotion from betrayal, is the jail
The fight to happiness is the grail

Naught more important than happiness in your soul
Life without is a long death of emotion, a ghoul
Perfidious Cupid, personification of sadism in control
Reality is his dead soul; he is merely an illustrious troll

Venus bestowed her name to a planet and embraced earthly disgrace
Diana laughed in triumph, capturing lost grace
Love and destruction, humanity’s masochistic complication
Pathetically pitiful the belief in divine resurrection

Love, that random chemical reaction
Drug dependent humanity rationalizes the addiction
Is this a cover for fear of loneliness or sacrificial neediness?
Evolution’s glue for human togetherness
