Broken Love

Broken Love

In the desert of love you cry from the slightest touch
Forgotten are heartbreak and the sadness of silence
The tears are emotions yearning for devotion
Just let me feel your sweet humanity, to know I am, you sigh

How does this morose plain of cracked lips become the chain?
Slowly the torment surrounds until all that is heard is a windswept sound
The barrenness of love is so profound, but denied by a mind of conscious ground
Humanness that soft gentle mantle of the hopeful heart in pain

It is tormented until sensitivity is magnified to imagine that love is forever gone
Confusion, fright and fear is the result of the kiss that becomes the touch
Is that regret from loneliness that has become a wicked deranged happiness?
So I cry and wonder if I am normal or forever damaged?

Terrified that these cracked lips will be revived only to quiver and lose yet again
I do not know how many loves are left in my soul
I shall not surrender my pain if it means emptiness of emotions is the gain
Look at me and accept me, and please don’t ask why I cry when I smile
