Evil Hides Happiness

Evil Hides Happiness

When my soul dies day by day
Turning around is like having a body of clay
Stripped bare of defense against
No care about time now or hence

My eyes look and see black and white
Stark cracks in humanity is the blight
Pointless edge to everything in the light
Might as well laugh without joy, with a heavy heart

Where am I now that my life is a desert?
Abandoned by the angels and left without
My thirst without a drop to soothe
All around me the wetness I can’t touch oozes

Curses without blessings is a lopsided world
Evil that hides happiness is my punishment unearned
Sublime human nature is all I can climb
This long conflict, fights my mind and takes time
