Exhaustion Canyon

Exhaustion Canyon

Will destiny combine to punish the not asleep time?
Destiny the entity of no form, just reality that came
Sometimes a bounce with leaps and a clear glance
Others when the hours feel like days in a tired trance

Confusion abounds with annoyance at the taught
For we’re schooled by command that life is a picture taut
Not the truth to be exact and it’s discovered on an exhaustive track
For when it goes against your grain it tires one’s brain

Through exhaustion canyon I feel the pain in its domain
Just suddenly awake it thrives when tiredness arrives
So to sleep, you know when it takes over your walking
You’ll find yourself not caring about anything but the pillow calling

But awake is punished by sleep that’s still famished
It climbs to tell that it’s not finished and is as mad as hell
Then sends the clouds to make you wish for slumber
The walls of the canyon always seem higher
