Emmet
To reach out, but who is
there in truth?
And if an answer is “me”
then, ain’ vero?
No matter in Latin or any
language scenario
“Do you mean it?” is the
essence of veracity
Seeker of truth inherent
in youth
When is that corrupted for
a wink with a nod to become accepted?
My soul cries out for love
in truth
Purity to bare one’s soul
to another without worrying about a dagger
I sigh in the middle of
the night with only cold at my side
Better harshness of
loneliness than the deadly fire of a black widow
But some will rather lay
down with a lie than suffer for truth
For what if the beginning
is nothing but in the end they say “I mean it”?
Risking death for love is
an old crusade that romantics will never put in the shade
But truth, is the only
bedrock that never needs an excuse, only an oath
Inspire me with honesty
and integrity for then there will be justice
The words “I mean it” with
action thru’ passion will fire eyes burning with truth known as love
