Deathstruck

Deathstruck

How do you forget the innocent face to die?
Eyes staring at you without lies
One look of pleading for justice
Not even mercy is mustered, no solace

Reality strikes your psyche and no defense
Imbedded picture of mortality and no fence
Powerless without solution, watching a countdown to death
This world so wrapped in belief without evidence of divine stealth

Witness the pain of hunger, only dirt, dust and brush
Nothing to drink but sights and sounds of cruel fate all in a rush
No matter if you are a babe or adult, the curse considers you fodder
Slow death, shouting for humanity to hear, even a judder

Confusion is the beings hope, for perhaps some ghost
Listen to the cry for no longer is it human or animal, just lost
I have no faith for it insults my mind and tells it to lie
Reality of a world where creatures are born to lay down and die
