Dark Kernel

Dark Kernel

See the world in the color of cat’s eyes
Bitter grey and divisions of black the array
Blind wall ahead and the cloak of dark
Now, is an enduring end, harshness stark

To who is this agony owed?
Twists and bends your life, to fight you must extend
Happily it fools, for the tracks are smooth and straight
Then the whack is struck and steel shatters with hate

Inflamed is the mind, feelings crash all around
This reality of no touch, shaking the world to astound
Dead weight is emotion with gravity the enemy
To reach for the high is fighting chemically for ecstasy

Different avenues with barricades, overcoming would be bliss
Arrest my fall with a loving touch and a kiss
How to call out to a world that is always turned away
For those like us, unable to distinguish color from bitter grey
